Dennis Jackson A Northamptonshire Archaeologist
Northamptonshire Archaeological Society. 2010.
ISBN. 978-0-9507151-4-8
In the mid-1960s, Dennis Jackson emerged as one of the few full-time field archaeologists striving to keep up with the accelerating destruction brought on by modern developmentâparticularly stone quarrying near Corby and gravel extraction in the Nene Valley. Without his presence on the ground, much of historical significance would have been lost without record. His autobiography details his work on Neolithic and Bronze Age burials, numerous Iron Age and Roman settlements, and an Anglo-Saxon cemetery. It also offers analyses of pit alignments, Iron Age settlement patterns, and a proposed chronology for Iron Age pottery assemblages in Northamptonshire.
