About The Northamptonshire Archaeological Society (NAS)

Founded in 1974, the Northamptonshire Archaeological Society (NAS) promotes the study and appreciation of the county's rich archaeology and history.  We are a registered charity, with H.R.H.  The Duke of Gloucester serving as our Honorary President.

We aim to give members an active voice on archaeological matters in Northamptonshire and to foster a strong, informed community of history and heritage enthusiasts.

The Society's logo is a drawing of The Desborough Mirror.  The mirror is regarded as being one of the finest examples of late Iron Age (La Tène) art from Britain.  It is currently in the British Museum.
